What is GPS?

GPS is a Global Positioning System. It uses constellation of at about 24 Medium Earth Orbit satellites that transmit precise microwave signals, the system enables a GPS receiver to determine its location, speed, direction, and time. GPS device helps find the precise location of where you are. It can be attached in a car or something important so that you can record it position and look it up anytime you want. A unique thing about GPS system is that it can store the recorded locations and you can transmit these date with the internet connection.

GPS was developed and is operated by the U.S. Department of Defense. You might not know this but GPS satellites circle around the earth twice a day with very precise orbit routes and transmits the signals it receive as an information to the Earth.
